~Hebrews 11:1-2 Amplified Version (AMP)~

1) Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses).

2) For by this [kind of] faith the [a] men of old gained [divine] approval.

[a] i.e. those men and women who were faithful to GOD before the old covenant and those faithful to GOD after its establishment, those mentioned in this chapter.

14) What is the benefit, my fellow believers, if someone claims to have faith but has no [good] works [as evidence]? Can that [kind of] faith save him? [No, a mere claim of faith is not sufficient—genuine faith produces good works.]

17) So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective].

26) For just as the [human] body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works [of obedience] is also dead.

And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

6) In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,

And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].
